Please follow the instructions below to book your place" Somerset County Council is intending to commence a procurement process in August 2016 for a service to support children and young people aged 5 - 18 years who have experienced sexual abuse and trauma in Somerset. Background The emotional and mental health of children and young people is a priority concern for Somerset. As part of Somerset's commitment to the delivery of ‘Future in Mind — promoting, protecting and improving our children and young people's mental health and well-being’ DoH 2015, Public Health is leading the commissioning process to set up an innovative service to support children and young people aged 5 - 18 years who have experienced sexual abuse that do not met the threshold of children and young people's mental health services. This is a joint initiative between Public Health, Somerset County Council and Somerset Clinical Commissioning Group. Child sexual abuse changes childhoods. But so can we. This new service needs to reduce the negative impact child sexual abuse has on the lives of children and families living in Somerset.
