Construction work for multi-dwelling buildings and individual houses

Tender description

The project comprises the regeneration of the Smith's Dock area of North Shields which has been fully remediated from the existing disused docks. The Scheme will comprise various residential developments along with associated public realm over the course of the framework period. This is the 1st phase of an ambitious wider master plan to bring the historic Tyneside shipyard back to life as a vibrant new riverside community. Centred around the 3 retained dock basins, the scheme will create 815 homes, workspace, cafes and bars and open up new connections along the river between Fish Quay and Royal Quays and from the town centre down to the waterfront. The proposed initial work stream for the framework comprises the following projects: — Residential development 80 units with car parking. The Smoke Houses development will be a waterfront landmark development designed by an award winning Architect. The project will be the centre piece for the regeneration of the Smith's Dock development with retail units on the ground floor overlooking the docks. — Residential Development 96 units with surface car parking. The Mansion Houses Project consists 3 blocks of 32 units with ground floor retail space and external works set around one of the dock bays. — Public Realm Works to full site consisting feature signage, pavings and roadways. The Framework Agreement will utilise a 2 Stage Tender process for all phases of the development.
