Tender description

The works comprise the design and build of 99 No new build houses and flats located in the Middlefield area of Aberdeen in the North West of the city on the former Smithfield School site which was demolished in April 2011. The works shall be fully inclusive of all associated roads, footpaths and paved areas, services infrastructure encompassing below ground drainage, water, gas and electrical utilities. The development shall meet all current and relevant standards and codes of practice for new build housing including those of variable needs. Due to the nature of the site full planning permission is not required, planning however, shall be dealt with as permitted development by the planning authority. Aberdeen Heat and Power CHP plant shall be utilised to provide both heating and hot water to all dwellings on the site as part of this programme. The contractor shall provide a ‘Turnkey’ development, the quality of design, materials and workmanship must meet the highest aspirations of Aberdeen City Council.
