Whaley Bridge Town Centre Design and Heritage Action Plan

High Peak Borough Council is seeking to appoint Consultant to prepare an Action Plan for Whaley Bridge Town Centre. The plan should identify and seek to maximise the economic impact of a new access bridge to the Bingswood Industrial Estate, considering connectivity, heritage and the natural environment. The plan should include the following elements: 1. A set of proposals to better reveal and enhance the heritage assets focused around the canal basin the wider conservation area and natural environment Identify public realm improvements within the conservation area, with a focus on the canal basin to enhance the setting of the heritage assets. 2. Identify opportunities to improve pedestrian and cycle connectivity between the High Street, canal-side, industrial estate and residential areas which allows users to experience the heritage, historic origins and character of the town. 3. Identify the economic benefits that would be derived from undertaking the proposals within the Action plan. This is a re-advertised opportunity.
