The Commercially Supported Shipping (CSS) Team manages the In-Service support of a diverse range of platforms which includes the Royal Fleet Auxiliary (RFA) flotilla and the Royal Navy (RN) Hydrographic and Patrol (H and P) including Survey Ships. The majority of contracts which support these platforms will expire in 2018. This Prior Information Notice relates specifically to the RFA and HMS Scott requirements currently supported under long-term through life support contracts. The support activities will include but are not limited to: planning for and execution of global repair and maintenance; operational defect rectification; obsolescence management; surface coatings and furnishings; risk management and design services; to pre-determined availability requirements; supported by an on-site joint MOD / industry team. The FISS project is currently seeking approval to enter into the Assessment Phase. In issuing this Prior Information Notice (PIN) and engaging with the Market the UK Ministry of Defence is not committing to carry out any procurement in relation to the strategy stated in this PIN. Should the FISS project result in any related procurement activity in future, it will be subject to procurement processes in accordance with DSPCR 2011. An Industry Day is being held on 4.8.2016 in Bristol, UK. Details can be found in the Additional Information section II.7) to this notice.
