This is a soft market testing exercise that seeks input from the market to establish the most effective and attractive way of cleaning NSM and disposing or recycling the associated waste. We are seeking to invite suitable waste partners to respond to this questionnaire and, where clarification is required, conduct a short meeting for an informal exchange of ideas. The City of London is, by way of soft market testing, seeking to engage with waste management and cleaning providers in the market. This is with a view to understanding market innovations and subsequently selection of a cleaning and waste disposal partner through EU compliant procurement. The City is also seeking feedback from the market and interested stakeholders on the potential social value improvements this service could bring in terms of social, economic and environmental benefits. The City of London NSM procurement is currently valued at approximately £1.9m per annum. The new contract is due to commence in July 2017. The market opens at 12 midnight and runs through to 8am. A compound area is set aside on the site for waste operations. Waste needs to be cleared from the site daily. No waste can be stored on site. Focus is given to recycling and income generation from waste streams. Waste on site includes compostables (fruit, veg etc), cardboard, plastic, polystyrene, wood etc. Please see the attached notice for further details regarding this exercise.
