Tender description
NHS Croydon Clinical Commissioning Group (the CCG) wishes to invite suitably qualified and experienced providers to submit tenders for the provision of Intermediate Dermatology Service. The Intermediate Community Dermatology service would be appropriate to a high quality GP with Special Interest (GPwSI) accredited service and accredited GPwSI-led healthcare with consultant oversight for Croydon registered adults and children who have a minor or moderate dermatological condition appropriate for management in this setting. The service will provide: • Triage of referral letters, in line with Croydon CCG referral polices, discharging patients with treatment plans back to GPs or referring on to secondary care where appropriate • Clinical assessment and diagnosis of patients • Non surgical treatment and management advice for patients with minor to moderate dermatological conditions (in line with Croydon CCG local referral policy guidelines) • Prescribing relevant medication in line with Croydon approved formulary • Minor skin surgery procedures in line with the minor surgery referral protocol • Excision of low risk basal cell carcinomas, in line with current NICE IOG (https://www.nice.org.uk/guidance/csg8 and other relevant national guidelines • Good communication with referring GP to increase clinical awareness and support on-going management of patients in primary care The service commissioned should offer tangible benefits for the patients, including: • Easier access to services (e.g. flexible provision of appointments outside normal working hours) • Services that are geographically accessible to patients through delivery at optimal location(s) • A commitment to follow-up patients only where clinically necessary • Case manage patients from referral to discharge advising on pre-attendance management, interim actions, tests and procedures required and action upon results. The successful bidder will be awarded a 3 year Contract commencing on the 3rd January 2017 until 2nd January 2020, with the option to extend for a further 2 years, subject to any restrictions placed nationally by NHS England or the Department of Health, meaning the Contract may conclude on the 2nd January 2022.
