Tender description
Erewash Clinical Commissioning Group (ECCG) on behalf of the 4 Derbyshire CCG's (Hardwick CCG, North Derbyshire CCG and Southern Derbyshire CCG) is running a market testing exercise to assess potential providers within the market who are capable of delivering Core Podiatry services. At present these services are currently being commissioned via an Any Qualified Provider (AQP) process. The Commissioners are reviewing the market to assess levels of interest from any new, potential or existing providers that have the capacity to provide these services within each of the Derbyshire district areas. Core Podiatry is defined as ‘the assessment, diagnosis and treatment of common foot pathologies associated with the toenails, soft tissues and the musculoskeletal system with the purpose of sustaining or improving foot health’ (Farndon, 2006). It is intended that the service will focus on the needs of those individuals with low and medium levels of foot care needs, with potential providers referring on to specialised podiatry and extended scope podiatry as required and further signposting to non-podiatric services where clinically appropriate, e.g. smoking cessation or weight management services. The objectives of the service will be to provide: — assessment and intervention for those patients with painful foot conditions where this has reduced mobility and independence, — a surgical option for nail pathologies, — management of foot pain associated with foot function and/or structural abnormalities for common foot and ankle conditions, — footwear advice and orthotics as part of personalised care plans, — foot health education information and public health information including signposting to services, — equitable access for patients across the geographical region of Derbyshire. Integral to the above is: — provision of falls prevention advice (following local falls prevention pathway and guidance into specialist services where appropriate) and health education, — adults and children with a podiatric need including iatrogenic conditions without comorbidity, i.e. foot conditions that are a result of health care treatment that do not have direct pathology but do have related lesions elsewhere in the foot. The Commissioners are interested in hearing from Providers who have the relevant capability and experience to deliver this service. Providers should be willing to work collaboratively with the Commissioners to develop the service going forward in terms of a need to being flexible to respond to the changing requirements and priorities including increasing demands and the implementation of the wider service transformation agenda. The commissioners are currently reviewing the core podiatry requirements in relation to diabetes and MSK care and experience in delivering integrated services would be advantageous. Potential providers with relevant capability and experience to deliver this service are required to express an interest if they are interested in bidding for this service should the Clinical Commissioning Groups decide to carry out a competitive tender exercise and publish a Contract Notice for this requirement. This is purely an exercise to register your interest in this opportunity and does not commit the CCG to undertake a formal process. To express an interest: a) Register your interest on the portal at https://ardengemcsu.bravosolution.co.uk (registration and use of the website is free of charge); b) Select Open Access PQQ 251; Note: this is not a PQQ, we are using this functionality within the Arden & GEM Bravo procurement portal to communicate with interested parties. c) Search for and access listing named: Expressions of Interest for the delivery of Core Podiatry Services across Derbyshire and view details; d) Click on Express Interest link; e) Once you have expressed interest, access the My PQQs page. You will then need to complete the Qualification Envelope and submit your expression of interest. Your response should include capability and previous experience of delivering Core Podiatry services. Please note that the deadline for registering your expression is 17:00 on Friday 22.7.2016. The procurement will be advertised on Contracts Finder and administered via the Arden and GEM Bravo Solution e-procurement portal website http://ardengemcsu.bravosolution.co.uk An expression of interest will not automatically entitle involvement in any future procurement exercise. Any subsequent procurement conducted as a result of this event will be advertised separately and all organisations wanting to participate will need to respond to the procurement advertisement as and when it is published.
