Tender description

Barts Health NHS Trust (‘the Trust’) is seeking to appoint a partner to manufacture, package and supply Adenosine 130mg/130mL pre-filled bags to the Trust's specification requirements. Adenosine is a pharmaceutical product for use in Angiograms to create stressed cardiac conditions. The supplies will be for the Trust's use in its hospitals and also for the Trust's onward commercial supply to third party customers. Therefore the partner will need to work with the Trust to plan capacity in order to produce and maintain stock to fulfil demand growth for Adenosine through the Trust's distribution and sales channels. The supplies will need to be delivered to Distributor(s) appointed by the Trust. The initial production of supplies will be under a MHRA (Medicines Health Regulatory Authority) Manufactures Specials License held by the Trust (through Barts Health Pharmaceuticals) but the appointed partner will also need to be able to support the Trust in the manufacture, packaging and supply of the products if the Trust progresses the product under an MIA license. The appointed provider may also be called upon to provide pharmaceutical research testing services as to the stability testing of the product in order to generate data sets for the Trust's licensing applications. The manufacture and supply contract will be for an initial term of 2 years with an option to extend (exercisable by the Trust during the initial term) for a further 1 year. The appointed partner will need to have capacity to be able to manufacture and deliver an initial minimum batch of 18 000 units by 28.11.2016.
