Tender description

Supply of pharmaceuticals to an agreed destination within 10 hours of receiving a Deployment Request Form. Pharmaceuticals comprise of approximately 190 line-items of drugs. Supplier must be able to respond 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. DFID will not own any goods until the point of call-off. Supplier must commit to having required levels of stock for call-off at any time. Supplier must be able to commit to restoring its capacity to supply goods again in full within 14 days. 2 winning suppliers will be on the framework, with call-off contracts for the whole list of goods alternating between the 2 suppliers. (This is estimated to occur once annually). Smaller, ad-hoc ‘additional’ requirements for pharmaceuticals will be contracted outside of the ‘alternating’ arrangement, via mini-competitions based on price and lead-time.
