Social Prescribing — ‘My Best Life’ — Supplier Engagement Event. Social prescribing is a mechanism for linking patients with non-medical sources of support within the community. It provides health care professionals with a non-medical referral option that can operate alongside existing treatments to improve health and well-being and enable a more holistic approach. It recognises the importance of psychosocial, environmental and economic factors in health and well-being and health inequalities. NHS Barnsley Clinical Commissioning Group will be issuing an invitation for tenders for a new Social Prescribing service on the 11.7.2016. Tender documents will be available via this portal. The new service will provide a borough wide liaison service to support patients and social care clients to access non-medical sources of support in the community and be branded ‘My Best Life’. We would like to invite any stakeholders interested in applying for this tender to a workshop event on the 13th July.
