Can you please give some guidance on the fee rate? Thanks Fee rate will be dependent on the expertise and experience of the supplier. 2. Can we get some clarification on the technology the architects that this person will oversee will be using? If it is a mixed bag of say Java and Scala then it would be good to know what split the technologies will be and how many architects this person will oversee? This is a primarily people and organisation transformation role. However some understanding of agile principles, emerging technologies would be useful. For example Public Cloud, containerisation and micro services. The person would be overseeing eight architects. 3. Who does the role report to? Who else reports into them? The person reports to the Head of Architecture in MOJ Technology. The Head of Architecture has approximately 9 other reportees. 4. How many Architects are there in the team at the moment? And what's the typical time in role? There are currently eight architects. Typically they have spent between 10 and 25 years in post. 5. Is this role focussed on a specific programme of work? If so, what’s the scope and extent of the programme? The scope of the programme is increasing knowledge and skills of the team in emerging technologies, public cloud, agile principles and containerisation. 6. How many people (roughly) will the specialist be required to lead? Are there any specific technical skills (other than 'Cloud') that you will be looking for? There are currently eight architects. This is a primarily people and organisation transformation role. However some understanding of agile principles, emerging technologies would be useful. For example Public Cloud, containerisation and micro services. 7. Will the individual as well as managing the team have any other responsibilities in terms of defining technical direction, roadmaps etc. and shaping/reviewing strategy and the EA vision and blueprint. We are trying to understand whether this is a purely management role or a hybrid role of management, mentoring coaching and defining strategy/direction. It would be good to understand who the role reports to and whether this is a new role or replacement? What size will the team be, is it growing or static? Would the individual be able to work flexibly and not have to be on site everyday? The role is a hybrid of management, mentoring and coaching. However it will contain little strategy or direction setting. The role reports to the Head of Architecture in the MOJ and is a relatively new role and has an interim head. The size of the team is eight people. The team will be be reducing in size. They would have to work on site everyday as it will require a lot of face to face communication.
