Tender description
Milton Keynes Council requires the supply and installation of a range of charging and support equipment to supplement Milton Keynes existing charging infrastructure by targeting infrastructure which supports existing and new customers' needs as the market share of ULEV increases. The tender seeks the supply and installation of a range of charging and support equipment to Milton Keynes Council. The ambitious programme looks to supplement Milton Keynes existing charging infrastructure by targeting infrastructure which supports existing and new customers' needs as the market share of ULEV increases. Provision of a limited number of typical charging posts as examples of charging infrastructure at the scheme's Experience Centre — which is likely to be located in a ‘shop’ premises in Central Milton Keynes. These would not be necessarily ‘connected’ to the power supply, but must be able to demonstrate use and be compatible with existing Milton Keynes back office operation. Provision of an extensive range of charging infrastructure, (rapid and fast chargers) at 2 Electric Vehicle Hubs in Milton Keynes. The hubs are planned to provide an electric ‘filling station’ and to provide the full range of rapid charging facilities, 50kW CHAdeMo, 50kW combined charging system (CCS) and 22 kW AC. Consideration will also be given to the provision and installation of Tesla Supercharger units at the Electric Vehicle Hubs. Provision of suitable electric vehicle charging infrastructure to parking bays which will be reserved for the use of electric car club vehicles. It is envisaged that 30 bays will be introduced at the start of the scheme, with numbers being increased as demand and usage increases. Provision of up to 50 chargers that will be designated as ‘destination charging’ at locations where electric vehicle drivers spend some time (anything from 1 hour to overnight) as a major initiative to support the growth of EV sales. The scheme intends to provide up to 200 night time charging points for home owners who do not have off-street parking. These will be situated on street and other convenient locations for the overnight use by residents. All charge posts supplied must meet the relevant standards and must be installed in accordance with the latest electrical regulations. For avoidance of doubt these should be in line with guidance issued by the Office for Low Emission Vehicles in June 2013. And to IET regulations The posts should be compatible with the existing Milton Keynes charge post back-office.
