Tender description
The works comprise internal alterations (including insertion of new stairs and lifts and extending the War Memorial balcony); external alterations and repair to stonework and windows; demolitions (including existing gallery roofs, rear gallery extension, and 1970's office extension); the construction of a new rooftop gallery extension and roof terraces and the construction of a new extension to the north of the existing building to house education, gallery and support areas. The procurement will be single stage tendering on a quality/price basis using a standard SBC Form of Contract, there will be minor specialist contractor designed portions within the tender document. The on-site construction period is intended to be 21 months.
