Tender description
Brockhole is the Lake District National Park Authority Visitor Centre, located between Windermere and Ambleside, it consists of a formal house and gardens alongside other activities including water sports and tree top rope courses. The main house was constructed in 1898 as a family residence before being purchased by the Lake District National Park Authority (LDNPA). The site now attracts in the region of 200,000 visitors a year. In 2015 a building condition survey of Brockhole was carried out which identified the building maintenance work required to the main house and outlying buildings. Implementation of the maintenance work was put on hold whilst the future of the site was reviewed and a Masterplan for the site was developed. Lake District National Park Authority are now in a position to address the maintenance items identified in the condition survey and hope to do so based on a phased programme of works likely to last four years, avoiding the peak visitor times. We are now looking for a contractor to undertake the Year 1 works. An overall maintenance programme has been developed and will be implemented over a four year programme based upon the importance of the works. This PQQ is purely in respect of the Year 1 works. We are looking for a contractor to undertake the Year 1 maintenance programme. This is likely to involve, but not be limited to: - Roofing Works - External Render Repairs - Works to Doors and Windows - Plaster Repairs - Flooring Works - Replacing Kitchen Units - Boiler Replacements - Cleaning Guttering • Tender works for appointment of building contractor – July 2016 • Review tenders and engage contractor – August 2016 • Contractor timeframe for works (year one) – September 2016 to March 2017 Keywords: Repair, Maintenance, Brockhole
