Repair and Construction of River and Revetment Walling at Greenside Mines, Glenridding

Tender description

You are invited to submit a proposal for works in Swart Beck, Greenside Mine to repair damage to revetment walls following the severe storms in December 2015. The work is divided into two lots. Suppliers may bid for one or both lots Lot 1 - works immediately upstream of Swart Beck bridge (Grid Ref: NY36511745) to • rebuild a collapsed section of blockstone revetment wall alongside the beck, • fill voids eroded between and beneath stones in the blockstone revetment wall, and • re-position specific boulders in the bed of the beck to divert the flow into the centre of the channel. Lot 2 - works in Swart Beck above Greenside Mine (Grid Ref: NY36361765) to • rebuild a collapsed section of a historic dry stone revetment wall beside Swart Beck, • repair a second, severely damaged section of the same revetment wall, and • clear the channel of large boulders currently causing a partial blockage.
