Public Rights of Way - Small Works

Tender description

The Public Rights of Way team currently uses multiple suppliers for small works such as installation of gates, fencing, walls and for drainage and surfacing work and for clearance of vegetation. Currently the team requests quotations on a job by job basis and would like to move to a framework agreement whereby an agreed Schedule of Rates is agreed upfront for the period of the agreement. The framework agreement will have multiple suppliers dependent on the nature of the work to be carried out and the location within the B&NES area of the job. The necessary works include the installation of gates, the clearance of vegetation, the surfacing paths and the maintenance of bridges and steps. This is achieved by using a combination of volunteer teams, an in-house Path Warden and independent contractors. Work is to be carried out in accordance with the Council’s Safe Working Manual. The works site is to be left tidy and with no hazards to members of the public. Liaise with landowners/occupiers to avoid conflict with the on-going management of the land.
