PAN1313 - LED Retrofit Lanterns

Leicester City Council invites Quotations for the provision of: LED RETROFIT LANTERNS. The Public Lighting Group as part of its white light conversion scheme has a number of ornamental heritage lanterns it would like to re-use. These lanterns still have years of use left in them and we intend to have the internal wiring altered to convert them to an LED light source. The proposed Contract will be a one off and it is anticipated to award to a single Supplier. The type of lantern(s) to be converted is the Urbis Abbey type: samples are available for viewing at our Slater Street depot (if required). The “seal-safe” lamp housing will need to be removed along with the internal control gear and new LED control gear needs to be fitted in its place. The LED light array requires fixing to where the former lamp housing was secured and this needs to be sealed to IP66 rating. The LED light output will be 30watts with a maximum colour temperature of 5000 Kelvin. The LED’s do not have a requirement to be dimmed and the lantern is already fitted with a minicell that will be re-used The number of lighting units requiring conversion is estimated to be 50 no.
