Tender description

The procurement of Short Term Air Supply Systems (STASS), associated spares and Post Design Services (STASS fault investigation, corrective action, advice and technical assistance with the STASS technical publication). The Air Commodities Team, acting on behalf of the Secretary of State for Defence intends to place a 3 year contract with Submersible Systems Inc. (SSI) of Huntington Beach, California to enable the procurement of Short Term Air Supply Systems (STASS), associated spares and Post Design Services (STASS fault investigation, corrective action, advice and technical assistance with the STASS technical publication). The STASS unit known as ‘HEED 3’ is integrated into UK Air Crew life preservers. In the event of aircraft emergency landing into water, the HEED 3 can provide oxygen for approximately 30 breaths, thus increasing the chance of escape to the surface.
