Tender description

UCL PPS on behalf of Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children NHS Foundation Trust wish to procure 1 Tandem Mass Spectrometer. A more sensitive Tandem Mass Spectrometer instrument is being sought to replace the current HPLC platform for the detection of sickle cell disease and common haemoglobinopathies using the SpOtOn Haemoglobin method. Early detection of babies at risk of sickle cell disorders and early commencement of treatment has been shown to be beneficial in affected infants. The Tandem Mass Spectrometer must provide a robust system for Newborn screening based on suggested criteria of the SpotOn method, must be ‘EU In-vitro Diagnostic Medical Device Regulation’ (IVDR) compliant and demonstrate future-proofing for Haemoglobin assay developments at the Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH) screening laboratory.
