Installation services of laundry washing, dry-cleaning and drying machines

Tender description

This is an initial early market engagement in respect of a project for the design, supply and installation of a laundry at HMP Berwyn. HMP Berwyn is a new build public sector prison near Wrexham in North Wales. The Authority requires an an initial design for the laundry, an indication of how long the complete installation will take and an estimated cost for the complete requirement. However, as the building is still under construction, there is currently limited information available. Any organisation interested in the proposed procurement is requested to express an interest together with any questions that require a response in order to provide a design, time-line and estimated cost. Information that is currently known: The proposed laundry will be located in a new building measuring 25m x 40m. The laundry will be operational Monday to Thursday for a total of 24 hours and will process 6 300kgs of laundry per week. The building will require the full fitting out of all mechanical and electrical services to a point where machines can be connected, all machine process drainage and other civil works required for this new laundry will need to be supplied as part of the project. The following types of machines are expected to be required: Washer extractors, Tumble Dryers, Utility Presses, Ironer along with all water storage steam generation air compressors and other ancillary equipment required to operate a new build laundry. This is a design and build requirement in a new building which is required to be operational by February 2017 and should comply with NHS CFPP01-04 requirements.
