Delivery of a Catering Service at Spurr House Short Stay Service

Persona Care and Support Ltd are a Local Authority trading company that provide adult social care to the residents of Bury. They operate a short stay facility for older people at Pole Lane, Unsworth on behalf of the Council. The facility supports a high proportion of customers living with dementia. It has been recently modernised and refurbished to a good standard with a modern but homely feel. There are 36 beds within the facility of which 27 are open 365 days per year. The remaining 9 are opened flexibly based on demand levels. We are now looking to introduce a catering facility at Spurr House which will provide catering for short-stay customers within the unit, and their visitors. This is a model which we have already implemented at Elmhurst short stay and Grundy day centre although the provision of those services were on a concessionary basis whereas this service will be on a contractual basis between Persona and the successful bidder. As well as the internal kitchen facility there is space on the site to create an outside eating area should the successful bidder consider this as an option. The service is regulated by the Care Quality Commission and undergoes regular inspections from both CQC and Bury Council Quality Assurance Team. Keywords: Catering Serrvice
