Tender description
Westminster Children's Services now has one front door - the Access to Children's Services - and WCC are seeking to commission a post, employed by the voluntary sector, to sit in the team. The key purpose of this role will be to 1. To act as a ‘bridge’ between Westminster City council’s Access to Children's Services team and the local voluntary sector with the aims of: • Ensuring more integrated service delivery • Ensuring that families have access to the most appropriate help in their local neighbourhood 2. To develop the voluntary sector in their use of the Common Assessment Framework and to develop a framework in the sector for the effective sharing of information across all sectors. Key service aims 1. Develop a comprehensive knowledge and understanding of local voluntary sector services and build relationships with them in order to broker support for families into voluntary organisations in the area. 2. To contribute to the allocation of cases ragged 'blue' at the front door by brokering support for these families into the voluntary sector by liaising with them and sometimes accompanying them to the organisation; 3. To build relationships, and explain the role of children's services, to local voluntary sector partners who work with children and young people. To build an understanding of their criteria for referral and capacity. 4. Support diverse voluntary and community sector engagement in the Children and Young Peoples agenda in Westminster. 5. Work jointly with the WCC lead to develop the use of the Common Assessment Framework with the voluntary sector. 6. To pilot the offer of face to face contact and accompanying vulnerable families to a service.
