Upgrade of Sports Pitch 7 at Jordanstown Campus

Tender description

The Contract is for the provision of the upgrade of Upgrade of Sports Pitch 7 at Jordanstown campus. Sports Pitch 7 is an existing sand carpet natural turf pitch used for mostly GAA/gaelic football and soccer and the works will include the removal of the existing pitch surface and sand carpet, upgrade of existing drainage systems, replacement of pitch surface/makeup with a new fibresand topped sand carpet pitch, including drainage improvements and grow in. The works shall also include the provision of an irrigation system, involving a new booster pump station, connecting to an existing underground water storage tank, associate pitch pipework, associated electrical works to supply either a pop up irrigation system or a new travelling sprinkler system. The Contractor shall be required to employ a suitably qualified and experienced Mechanical & Electrical Sub-Contractor to complete the works associated with the irrigation system and water supply. The University Campus and general sports grounds surrounding the pitch will remain operational for the duration of the works. The Contractor shall be required to maintain adequate protection of pitch no. 7 during construction and to project completion.
