A Brief for the survey and testing of reinforced concrete at the Glebe Estate, West Drayton The Glebe Estate was constructed between 1963 and 1965. There is currently evidence of the surface failure or the spalling of concrete across the estate and the Council seeks to determine the extent of the deterioration of the reinforced concrete structures. In the light of this deterioration, the Council invites tenders and seeks to appoint an external body with suitable skills, knowledge and experience to undertake a visual and hammer rap survey of the concrete elements to establish the depths of carbonation and sampling of the concrete and laboratory analysis for chlorides. A fully interpretive report will be required detailing the nature, cause and extent of the deterioration together with recommendations for remedial repairs. A material specification and bills of quantities for these repairs is also to be produced.
