FORENSIC SCIENCE NORTHERN IRELAND SPECIALIST TECHNICAL CONSULTANT TO CARRY OUT AN ASSESSMENT FOR THE NEW FORENSIC SCIENCE NORTHERN IRELAND ACCOMMODATION PROJECT CPD Ref No: S16089/08 Central Procurement Directorate (CPD), Supplies and Services Division, on behalf of the Strategic Investment Board (SIB) and Forensic Science Northern Ireland (FSNI) invites proposals from service providers for the above tender. SIB’s role is to act as a bridge between the public and private sectors. It works with NI government departments and agencies to help them achieve faster delivery of major public infrastructure projects. In parallel, SIB works with the private sector to inform the market of planned projects, generate confidence and stimulate market interest, thus driving competitive tension and resulting in best value for the taxpayer. SIB has been asked by the Secretary of State and the Northern Ireland Office to support Forensic Science Northern Ireland with their new accommodation project. SIB wish to procure the services of an individual or organisation with the skills and experience needed to act as Review Consultant(s) to examine and review the current plans for the new FSNI accommodation and in particular to give considered comment, with supporting evidence where applicable upon:- • The proposed specification for each section in relation to current service workload; • The proposed specification for each section in relation to and anticipated workloads; • The proposed specification of surfaces, furniture, fittings and Services; • The proposed layout and flow, both in relation to efficiency and contamination control; • The degree to which the high level concepts described earlier are needed to meet current fit for purpose service needs; • The degree to which the high level concepts described earlier are needed to meet future service needs; and, • The flexibility and scalability of the design.
