Safety Study for High Containment Laboratories

The HPA wish to enter into a formal contract with a reputable company for the provision of safety assessments on high containment labs at HPA. The successful tenderer will be awarded an initial study involving a current high containment lab at HPA, Porton. Following this study it is likely that further studies will be required. You are invited to submit expressions of interest for the preparation, initiation, investigation, coordination and formal safety assessment of a high containment laboratory and its associated containment equipment. The study will involve collation and review of site documentation including URS’s, SOP’s, Risk Assessments and Preventative Maintenance Procedures. Formally manage and chair SWIFT (Structured What If Technique) assessments, LOPA (Layers of Protection Analysis), SIL (Safety Integrity Levels) and HAZOP (Hazard & Operability) assessments in relation to this high containment laboratory suite. Assess current HVAC systems for safety criticality including mechanical and electrical design, controls philosophy and failsafe modes. Prepare Technical Monograph for the laboratory safety file. The successful bidder will be expected to be fully conversant with microbiological high containment principals. Working knowledge of ACDP and Home Office Regulations and BS EN (IEC) 61508 & 61511. Proven experience in undertaking SWIFT and LOPA assessments.
