Tender description

The HPA requires the appointment of a UKAS accredited certification body where the key deliverable is the certification to ISO 9001 to support governance arrangements of: • all activities at the Porton site; • The production of ready-to-use culture media and ancillary reagents and the development and management of National Standard Methods at the Colindale site; and • Radiological impact assessment (nuclear), radiological testing of environmental and biological materials and the provision of associated advice at Chilton. • The Chilton site also requires certification to TickIT 5.5 for software development associated with radiological impact assessment. Accreditation or certification by a professional body supports the governance arrangements of the HPA by providing independent assurance that systems are under control. They also provide assurance to our customers, for who it is often a specific requirement of using our services, that our products and services are fit for purpose. HPA sites at Colindale, Porton and Chilton have all been certified to ISO 9001 for a number of years. In order to retain certification each site is audited bi-annually by a UKAS accredited certification body
