Tender description

NWSSP Procurement Services on behalf of Cwm Taf UHB, wishes to inform the market that they entered into discussions with the current Pathology Managed Service provider, Roche Diagnostics Ltd on modifying the existing contract to extend for a period of up to 9 months, until end of October 2016. This is to enable business continuity for the Pathology Services within Cwm Taf University Health board, whilst the procurement process is being undertake to award a new Pathology Managed Laboratory Service contract. Modification of Cwm Taf UHB's contract with Roche Diagnostics LTD for the provision of a Pathology Managed Service Contract, advertised through OJEC on 14.7.2005. Discussions with Welsh Government and Executives in CTUHB on the future of Pathology Services, has delayed the initial procurement timetable to seek a new service provision, resulting in the procurement process starting December 2015, currently at ITT stage. The OJEU reference to this procurement is 2015/S 244-443739 dated 17.12.15. To ensure the business continuity of the pathology services which supports both the primary and secondary care for Cwm Taf University Health Board a modification of the original contract has been agreed with Roche Diagnostics Prime contractor including the 3rd party provisions for a period of 9 months. Failure to do so would result in a significant risk both from a service delivery and financial aspect, and would have a direct impact on patient care.
