Parapet replacement Coleraine campus

Tender description

The University invites applications from main building contractors for the works associated with parapet replacement on the Coleraine Campus. A recent condition survey carried-out on the existing precast concrete coping stones at high level to 5 Nr stairwells on the Coleraine has revealed that the existing motar beds of the copings are in a poor state of disrepair. The brickwork walls of the stair core have a high degree of motar loss. The works shall take for the removal of the existing precast concrete copings and lower the existing wall so that the staircase roof is predominately flat. Replace the existing copings with a new coping along with the modification of the existing glazed section at the leading edge to the staircases, replacing the glazing with a new insulated cladding system/exit doors where required. The existing raked roof shall also be replaced with a new standing seam flat roof complete with adequate roof insulation. The works will also take for all necessary re-pointing of the existing brickwork for the entire staircase during the works.
