Tender description
Heart of England NHS Foundation Trust has a requirement for a contract for an Occupational Health Doctor service for a 3 year period with an option to extend for up to a further 2 x 12 months. Trust Employees and Employees of our external customers can be referred to the Occupational Health Doctors in line with the Trust and external sickness absence policies, via triage by the Occupational Health Team to help gain a greater understanding of an employee’s health and likely return to work date. This contracted service will be overseen by the Occupational Health Department, with initial appointments being triaged by the senior nursing team. It is critically important that the Doctor Service is able to deliver a service that meets our primary needs, reactive care, links effortlessly to the other health agendas including but not limited to, occupational health, and delivers a proactive service that supports the Trust and our external contracts. The successful provider will also need to demonstrate they have the ability to provide services to the Trust and a large number of external contract users where required. In addition there is a requirement to deliver a telephone support line which is available Monday to Friday 8.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m. for support and advice to the Occupational Health team only. The external provider may be required to provide services for other partner organisations. The Occupational Health Department delivers Occupational Health services to a large portfolio of external contracts, including NHS, Education, Industry, Local Authority, charitable organisations and the private sector. Some of this work involves the delivery of onsite clinics at our external contracts but this will not be an expectation for the Doctor service. However, there will be the requirement to deliver clinics at Heartlands, Good Hope and Solihull Hospital.
