NHS Scotland is considering options for Picture Archiving and Communication system (PACS), Radiology Information System (RIS) and Vendor Neutral Archive to the National Health Service Scotland. The chosen solutions must be able to combine to provide an integrated solution or be able to be provided separately. The overall system must support the management of work-flow, cross-site reporting, capture and storage in an information system which delivers radiographic services to a population of 5 100 000 people and which deals with well in excess of 3 200 000 radiology exams a year to the following participants: NHS Ayrshire and Arran, NHS Borders, NHS Dumfries and Galloway, NHS Fife, NHS Forth Valley, NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde, NHS Grampian, NHS Highland, NHS Lanarkshire, NHS Lothian, NHS Orkney, NHS Shetland, NHS Tayside, NHS Western Isles, National Waiting Times Special Health Board.
