A Transformation Programme has been set up to support significant service redesign in clinical and corporate services. The Trust is looking to develop more flexible, mobile ways of working for its staff, whilst improving productivity and quality for our service users. As part of this an Infrastructure Strategy is in development which will set the direction of travel for estate configuration and IT development across the newly-formed Trust, based on the strategic plans of services. The Infrastructure Strategy will particularly focus on estates and ICT solutions in support of service models. In other key related areas it will set a broad framework, but will not offer a detailed strategy, implementation and investment plan. These relationships are illustrated overleaf. This specification for IT support is primarily to support the IT-enabled change element of the strategy, although it is expected that there will be some overlap into the ‘partially in scope’ Business Intelligence and and Systems Integration elements. The Trust has a vision to utilise IT to enable significant change and improvements in the way staff work. By bringing in an external IT consultancy, the Trust is seeking to support its clinical strategy by baselining and benchmarking current IT services (technology, infrastructure, skills, capacity), identifying a vision for IT-enabled change, and identifying the gap between this vision and our current position. We are initially requesting expressions of interest in this project by 11th November 2011. Once expressions have been recieved via Bravo we will issue the specification to interested suppliers. This project follows the guidelines set out bt the Trusts Standing Financial Instructions.
