Tender description

Sterilisation tray wrap for use in hospital sterile services department. Tray wrap must be suitable for steam sterilisation. Tray wrap must conform to ISO 11607 part 1 (or equivalent) for use as outer wrap for surgical instruments. Tray wrap must conform to EN 868 part 2 (or equivalent). The trust's preferred format for tray wrap consists of two separate layers, one inner layer of synthetic reinforced non-woven material/wrap, with an outer interleaved layer of “Spun-Melt-Spun” (SMS) wrap. Tray wrap must have high tear strength and be designed to reduce wet loads. Some of the trust's heavy orthopaedic sets require extra resistance to tearing. It is anticipated that two grades of tray wrap will be purchased under any contract awarded.
