Ensure Right Care First Time — The main objective of the Community ENT Service is to ensure that patients have the right care first time, integrated into a ‘1 stop’ approach where patients can be seen by multiple specialists on a single site to avoid repeat appointments and attendances at clinics. Develop Local and Joined-up Care — The enhanced service will deliver peer support for local GP's and staff to join up pathways and best practice into the health sector. The current arrangement for community adult ENT, wax removal and Audiological hearing loss services is fragmented and causes confusion to both GPs and patients alike, resulting quite often in patients having numerous appointments with various services, causing inconvenience to them and an increase in costs. Patients sometimes require more than 1 service i.e. wax removal and/or hearing test and as these are not offered in the same site. Patients are discharged from 1 service to another resulting in confusion and additional unnecessary steps in the patient pathway. The key aim of this procurement is to find a supplier who will be able to implement the core principles and the speciality specific standards required to deliver community adult ENT, wax removal and audiology service in the heart of local communities, which means outside of the acute hospital setting for many patients.
