Tender description

The Department of the Environment (DOE), Northern Ireland wishes to appoint a course organiser to provide courses from 3 November 2008 or earlier for drivers disqualified from driving for 12 months or more following drink-drive convictions. Only drivers who are considered suitable by a District Judge are issued with a referral certificate by the District Judge. There is no requirement to enrol for such a course nor is there a penalty for not doing so. However, those who successfully complete a course on time are entitled to a three months reduction in the period of disqualification or up to 25% of the total period of disqualification if the period of disqualification exceeds twelve months.
