Works: The Contract is for the provision of 6 social housing units comprised of 6no. 3p/2b apartments. The work includes the requirement for site development and engineering works. The contract will be for approximately 12 months from date of award and is scheduled to start by the end of March 2017. It is expected that ALL units built under this contract will achieve ‘Secured By Design’ and Lifetime Homes accreditation. The scope of the Talbot Street, Newtownards project is the delivery of 6 social housing units; the scale of the Talbot Street, Newtownards project is approx. £550,000 and the complexity of the Talbot Street, Newtownards project includes the construction of one apartment block. The project includes provision of engineering services and external and site development works which achieve Secured by Design and Lifetime Homes standards. We await a further site investigation report to determine ground conditions. General Site Description: The 0.25 acre site is located on Talbot Street, Newtownards. The land within the site is rectangular in shape. A right of way exists through the site giving access to a garage to the rear. The site is surrounded by houses, gables to one side and rear returns to the other. Land use in surrounding area is predominantly comprised of residential. The site can be accessed from Talbot Street.
