Consulting Engineer Services (Civil) - Pilot Community Flood Response Project for Thomastown & Graiguenamanagh , Co Kilkenny. Kilkenny County Council has identified a need for the services of a Consultant Engineer, to progress flood alert schemes and community flood response schemes in Thomastown and Graiguenamanagh – these schemes are intended to facilitate a community based response to flood events by improving the resilience and preparedness of the local community to deal with flood events. Specifically, the scheme is required to : • Provide an early flood warning system for the towns of Thomastown and Graiguenamanagh • Provide flood management measures for individual properties such as demountable flood door barriers, non return valves etc This project may be used by the Office of Public Works (OPW) as a National Pilot study to inform the consideration of potential for the provision of flood management measures to individual properties.
