Tender description
The British Library wishes to enter into a framework contract with a limited number of organisations able to provide consultancy and associated services to assist the Library in the delivery of cryptographic solutions, initially for the Digital Object Management (DOM) Programme. The Digital Object Management (DOM) Programme is a large programme being run by the British Library to build the digital infrastructure required to support the National Digital Library. Over the next few years an increasing proportion of the Library’s collection will be held in digital form. How ever this is received, and whatever its type or origin it will be subject to a signing (or time stamping) process. This is a key activity within an overall process to assure the authenticity of the object, whereby we can demonstrate that when an object is retrieved it comprises the same bit stream as when it was originally received.
