The North Essex PCT cluster (comprising West Essex, North East Essex and Mid Essex PCTs) together with NHS Hertfordshire (as an associate) are looking to commission the provision of a Child Development Centre Service (which will include all Community Paediatric Therapy services) and a Children’s Community Nursing Service for eligible children and young people initially for those registered with West Essex and East Hertfordshire GPs. Commissioners have chosen to use a dialogue based competitive procurement process to enable an innovative service to be developed around the desired outcomes with the benefit of provider engagement from the outset. Potential bidders are advised that at this time, the activity and desired outcomes will be based upon the requirements in West Essex and East Hertfordshire only however, the PCT Cluster wishes to reserve the right to incorporate the activity for MID and NE Essex PCTs into the contract at the commissioner’s discretion and this will be explored further during the planned dialogue with shortlisted bidders.
