Tender description

Northern Ireland Electricity Networks Limited (NIE Networks) is the electricity Distribution Network Operator (DNO) and Transmission Network Owner in Northern Ireland. NIE Networks is responsible for the network of engineering assets that allows the transmission and distribution of electricity to customers’ premises from electricity generators. Serving 850,000 customers, the company employs around 1200 staff, and delivers the entire range of activities expected within a utility. This includes provision of new and upgraded supplies, fault response, metering services and whole-life asset management. The network comprises circa. 49000 km of overhead line and underground cable, and over 300 major substations. Northern Ireland Electricity Networks (NIE Networks) was certified to PAS 55 in September 2013). This three year certification expires in September 2016, and on expiry, we intend to seek certification to the new standard for asset management, ISO 55000. To assist us in this exercise we now require services to undertake Readiness and Certification Audits for ISO 55000, and the associated annual Surveillance Audits. The scope of the ISO 55000 Certification will include the activities required to manage the Transmission and Distribution network (including metering). All ancillary services (such as provision of Fleet or IT) are outside the scope of this Certification. NIE Networks wishes to invite competitive bids from suitably qualified providers for the provision of ISO 55000 certification services.
