Tender description

BBC News currently has four studios each equipped with a Radamec “See & Select” equipped control system. Each studio has 4-7 cameras mounted on pedestals and there are a couple of small roof slung heads in use. Each pedestal is also equipped with height control and lens servo control. There are no X-Y robotic pedestals in use. While the camera heads are serviceable the control system itself is now unsupportable. It is proposed to replace 3 Control Systems (with the option of a replacing a 4th) with new Systems, while retaining the existing heads, height controls and lens servos. It is the BBC's intention to buy the Equipment (lot 1) and in addition may elect to undertake the purchase of Installation (lot 2) and Support and Maintenance (Lot 3) as part of an overall package under a single Contract award.
