Tender description

It is generally accepted that Autism Spectrum Disorder ASD is prevalent in 1.1% of the UK population1 and previous years have shown that assessment: diagnosis ratios are 4:1. Since 2013/14 there has been a significant increase in the number of children and young people needing an ASD assessment nationally and this is replicated in Castle Point and Rochford CCG locality, Currently, CP&R CCG does not formally commission an ASD assessment service for children and young people. Capacity to manage the waiting list is therefore being purchased by Commissioners, to complete 157 assessments for children with suspected ASD with the aim to reduce the existing waiting list for assessments to 6 months by March 2017. CPR CCG (the Commissioning Organisation) wish to establish a single Provider contract for the provisions of the Autism Spectrum Disorder Services.
