A Programme in Partnership to reduce Health Inequalities within our communities

Procurement of a Strategic Partner to work with the PCT to deliver a programme to tackle Health Inequalities by building an innovative relationship with our communities Birmingham East and North Primary Care Trust is an NHS body which invests some £630m pa to improve health and ensure access to high quality services for 460,000 people on the Eastern half of the largest metropolitan body in Europe. The PCT has a national reputation for performance and innovation. We are establishing an approach to deliver a large scale programme of community involvement exploiting the power of information and are now seeking a partner for a 3-5 year framework agreement to support this major programme of work. The preferred partner will have a track record in working on projects where engagement with communities on a large scale has been required. The provider will have an information infrastructure which the PCT can exploit to develop a number of interventions which help it in its goal to reduce Health Inequalities and empower and involve communities. The provider will have a track record in social marketing. The provider will be able to demonstrate how they will measure the outcomes and the return on investment of a programme of this size and scope. The focus of relationship will be with BENPCT but as the PCT is at the heart of a network of partnerships, the strategic partner will demonstrate a track record of working at the interface of organisations, engaging other stakeholders, including the public in involvement activity. In this context, BENPCT seeks a framework agreement which would cover all NHS bodies, creating the potential for other NHS partners to access services from strategic partner through us.
