Notice is hereby given by the NHS South East Essex and NHS South West Essex (South Essex PCT Cluster) (“the PCT’s”) that: the PCT’s invites suitable market providers to a market warm up event to discuss the forthcoming procurement for the above service. From discussions with individual Clinical Commissioning Groups it is clear that there is a requirement to substantially improve the quality and integration of urgent care services across South Essex and bring together a range of disparate services to provide a responsive and effective service. The new integrated urgent care service will comprise the following service areas: • NHS ‘111’ urgent care telephone support and sign-posting (replacing similar services as provided by NHS Direct) • GP Out of Hours service • Minor Injuries Unit • Equitable Access Centres and other NHS Health Centre Walk-in Services • A&E Filter (currently a pilot service) • Dental Out of Hours • Rapid Response and Out of Hours Community Services • Palliative Care Services • Integrated adult community services (health and social care crisis response) The event will be held on Thursday 15th December 2011 from 11.30am – 12.30pm, Board Room, South West Essex PCT, Phoenix Place, Christopher Martin Road, Basildon, Essex, SS14 3HG. This purpose of this event will be to discuss at a high level our proposals and use the knowledge of the market to help us inform parts of the service specification. The procurement process and timetable will also be shared.
