Tender description

The Environment Agency has the power to seize vehicles under the Control of Waste (Dealing with Seized Property) (England and Wales) Regulations 2015. This Regulation allows an authorised officer to seize a vehicle and its contents where we have reasonable grounds to believe that a waste offence has been committed. As a result, we require external support to help recover, store and dispose of vehicles seized in waste crime operations. We are looking for a single contractor to provide a managed service whereby we will have a single point of contact in respect of seized vehicles in accordance with current regulations. It is anticipated that we will seize approximately 50 vehicles each year. We plan to award the contract in August 2016 for an initial period of 1 year, with the option to extend for 3 further periods of 1 year. We intend to make this contract available to all of the bodies included in the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs' network and to Natural Resources Wales.
