Salt spreaders

Tender description

Devon County Council wished to engage with a single supplier for the purchase of 3 to 6 pre-owned salt spreaders during the 2016 financial year. The outline specification of the 6 vehicles are to be: 18 tonne 4x4 chassis compliant with BS 1622 1989 Class A1 and draft Euro Standard prEN 15597-2, particularly in terms of spread capability. 6cuM low throw pre-wet body with control box capability to spread de-icing salt at 1g increments RS232 control box interface to European Standard EN15430-1:2007, to link with salt spreader tracking system fitted with snow plough DIN plates. The complete vehicles offered (chassis and spreader body) will have been used for 2 or 3 winter seasons. The vehicles are to be fully refurbished and offered with a 6 month (1 winter season) warranty. This VEAT is being issued in advance of formal award.
