Prior Information Notice - Private Patient Unit Market Engagement

Basildon and Thurrock University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (BTUH) is seeking to expand its private patient income to support the strategic development of NHS Services. The Trust currently holds a contract with Ramsey Healthcare Operations UK Ltd, for an eight (8) bed private patient service, specialising in Cardiac and Cardiothoracic Surgical activity. BTUH needs to ensure that any future private patient contract offers the best value and potential for income generation, and is therefore planning to market test the contract for a private patient unit, together with the inclusion of the potential for a wider range of private patient services. Initial estimated timescales plan to begin activities in the latter part of 2016, with a view for contract and service commencement in the latter part of 2017. BTUH wishes to engage the market to explore options of either appointing a provider for the existing requirement or for the possible expansion and development of private patients care facilities and income. Innovative solutions may be explored using existing infrastructure and/or the potential to develop alternate solutions. The Trust shall not be committed to award any contract as a result of this PIN notice
