Tender description

EirGrid and Soni, in their roles as TSO's in Ireland and Northern Ireland, have an obligation to take various measures to minimise curtailment of priority dispatch generation (mainly renewables), including the use of counter-trading on inter-connectors. At present the market arrangements are giving rise to high imports on inter-connectors, even at times when priority dispatch generation (including wind generation) is being curtailed in Ireland / Northern Ireland. The East West Inter-connector operates at 500 MW and the Moyle inter-connector currently operates at 450 MW import and 295 MW export. EirGrid and Soni now wish to engage an Energy Trading Partner to facilitate counter-trading. For full details please see Tender Documents attached to this eTenders Notice.
