Durham County Council Cathedral Bus Service Soft Market Test The Council’s current Cathedral Bus Service contract is due to be renewed on 30th September 2016. There are 3 electric buses allocated to the current service, operating a 2 buses frequency. The Cathedral Bus service links Durham train station and the coach park with the City Centre, market place and Peninsula (Palace Green, Durham Cathedral and Castle), with some peak time journeys to Durham University Science Park. Operating between the riverside, railway station, Cathedral and university sites within Durham City with a 10 minute frequency to each site on a Monday to Saturday (see attached Timetable), the service also operates to serve special events within Durham City as required, e.g. Christmas Market and Lumiere.
